Sisu is an exploration company and not a mining company. Sisu is exploring for precious metals such as gold and silver; battery metals such as lithium, cesium and tantalum; and base metals such as copper, nickel and cobalt.
Sisu will explore in a responsible, safe, sustainable and transparent way, in accordance with the exploration guidelines outlined by www.kaivosvastuu.fi. Sisu will not explore in protected areas or nature reserves. Sisu recognizes that special nature values exist everywhere, not just within protected areas, and works diligently to preserve and respect them.
Sisu will engage and collaborate with local landowners and stakeholders. In areas of reindeer husbandry, Sisu seeks to understand the needs of co-operatives to minimize impacts of exploration. Sisu welcomes all feedback and seeks solutions that satisfies all parties.
Sisu is run by experienced individuals with a long track record of doing responsible exploration around the world. Sisu holds mineral exploration reservations in Central Lapland, Northern Finland and the Kaustinen Region of Central Finland.
Sisu’s Managing Director is Jake Clark, a professional registered
geologist who first worked in Finland in 2013, and has worked on multiple projects
across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and North America. Sisu is a subsidiary
of a Canadian publicly listed exploration company called Grit Metals
(TSXV:FIN”) where Mr. Clark is the VP Exploration.
Mr. Clark recently served as Chief Geologist for an Italian mining company, collaborating with the environment ministry to help achieve the EU Critical Minerals Act's goal of developing the first underground mine in the EU with no surface footprint or waste.
Image Description
Sisu is a Finnish concept which defines extraordinary determination in the face of extreme adversity, and courage that is presented typically in situations where success is unlikely. It expresses itself in taking action against the odds, and displaying courage and resoluteness in the face of adversity; in other words, deciding on a course of action, and then adhering to it even if repeated failures ensue. It is in some ways similar to equanimity, though sisu entails an element of grim stress management. (Wikipedia)
